Reaching the milestone of 40 years is an opportunity to pause, look back and reflect on all that we have built together as an educational community. At Colegio Internacional SEK Guayaquil, this journey holds special significance. It lives on in every generation that has passed through our classrooms, in the families who have entrusted us with their children’s education, and in the people whose dedication and hard work have helped shape our identity.

Our anniversary celebration brought together authorities, institutional representatives, alumni and members of our community to celebrate a story that continues to unfold. It was an opportunity to revisit our beginnings, reflect on how far we have come and reaffirm the principles that guide our educational mission.

Through photographs, personal accounts and shared memories, we revisited moments that have become part of our school’s history. Behind every photograph lie experiences, lessons learned and people who have given meaning to these four decades. An educational institution is built over time, but above all, it is shaped by the relationships it fosters and the lasting impact it has on those who are part of it.

The presence of Ms Mónica Segovia Perdiguero, President of SEK- IES International Institution, alongside institutional leaders and community representatives, made this commemoration especially meaningful.

During the ceremony, we also paid tribute to those who have contributed to the development of education and the growth of our institution.

As Principal of Colegio Internacional SEK Guayaquil, I believe this anniversary also brings with it a responsibility: to keep our educational mission alive, respond to the challenges of each era and continue providing our students with an education that combines academic excellence, strong values, critical thinking and an international outlook.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the families, students, alumni, teachers and other staff members who have been part of this journey. Each has contributed, in their own way, to building the school we celebrate today.

Forty years on, we continue to look ahead with the conviction that education is about opening up possibilities, supporting each student’s growth and preparing future generations to make a meaningful difference in their communities and the wider world. This is the commitment that unites us and the legacy we aspire to carry forward.
