White Week 2025: an international experience of learning and community

The White Week at Colegio Internacional SEK Chile is much more than a sports activity: it is a space where one of the pillars of the Educational Project of the SEK International Institution is brought to life—offering international experiences that promote the comprehensive development of our students. This year, the event brought together more than 180 students from SEK Guadalajara, SEK Costa Rica, SEK Guatemala, SEK Guayaquil, SEK Austral, and SEK Pacífico, who, along with their teachers and specialized instructors, gathered at Termas de Chillán, Chile.

During this week, participants not only began or improved their skills in skiing and snowboarding, but also enjoyed a multicultural experience in a natural environment of great beauty. Working with highly qualified instructors ensured safe and progressive learning, adapted to the different levels of each student.

The SEK Educational Project emphasizes the importance of learning to live together, fostering cooperation, respect, and tolerance. White Week embodies these values, as students from different countries live together, share challenges, and celebrate achievements, developing essential socio-emotional skills for the 21st century. In this context, sports become a means to enhance self-confidence and teamwork.

In addition, the activity contributes to the development of autonomy and responsibility, fundamental pedagogical principles for SEK. Students learn to manage their free time productively, combining recreation with learning, in line with the Educational Project’s focus on the conscious and formative use of leisure time.

The cultural exchange generated is equally enriching. By sharing with peers from other realities, students broaden their worldview, develop a global mindset, and strengthen their communication skills in different languages, in keeping with SEK’s international vocation.

White Week is, therefore, a unique opportunity to integrate academic, sports, and cultural dimensions into a single event. This experience reinforces our commitment to an education that transcends the classroom, preparing our students to be well-rounded citizens capable of facing the challenges of an interconnected world.

With each edition, we reaffirm that the most meaningful learning emerges when academic rigor, community living, and the discovery of new realities are combined. White Week is not only a milestone in our school calendar, but also a living reflection of SEK’s mission: to educate for life, with a global vision and a commitment to human and academic excellence.
